Explore some of the theoretical and experiential roots of suffering, including anxiety, depression, and associated behavioral challenges. Discuss perspectives, strategies, and tools that might provide solutions to your family's challenges. In particular, screen media's role in our struggles will be discussed.

    We have been experiencing intense withdrawal from the myths of control and certainty we had before our world changed overnight. This loss continues to exacerbate depression and anxiety and raise existential questions for many. Based on her popular talk "A Rising Tide Lifts All Ships: Building Resiliency and Creativity," Jenny invites us to look through a lens informed by this collective experience as we consider how to support the emotional well-being of ourselves and our families.

    All emotions are a healthy, normal part of life, but kids can become overwhelmed by their own strong and uncomfortable feelings. Helping kids see that everyone feels mad, sad, or scared sometimes can comfort them and build their emotional vocabulary. Come learn a little about the science of emotion and a lot about how to help kids name, normalize, and navigate big feelings.
